DJ With Your Computer
You can mix and scratch your music, including your iTunes Music Libraries using two large performance platters and a central mixer section with a crossfader, buttons and knobs. DISCOVER DJ is laid out in to carefully recreate the two-decks-and-a-mixer setup that professional DJs prefer. On screen, the MixVibes CROSS LE software is a virtual extension of the DISCOVER DJ hardware, with two decks. Just load your tracks to either Deck A or Deck B, and then control it, cueing up the start point, performing advanced transitions and even scratching.
Familiar, DJ-Friendly Controls
DISCOVER DJ has complete DJ controls such as pitching the music up and down so you can perfectly match the tempo or BPM between tracks and create seamless mixes. The system also has an automatic beat-matching feature that takes the guesswork out of this tricky piece of DJing. Bass and treble control enable you to shape your sound with ease. You can easily extend the mix by looping your favorite parts of their tracks. Yet, with all of this power and capabilities, DISCOVER DJ is easy enough for virtually anyone to learn on. Created for an artist's directive stipulating the composition contain repetitive shapes and/or tesselations. My goal with this was to create a piece using both slightly irregular repetitive shapes (circles, ellipses and triangles) and loose, uneven tesselations in a casual manner (rather than in the traditional manner) in order to give the work a touch of fun and whimsy. I also wanted to use the deceptively simple composition to play in a more intricate way with the subtleties of light reflection and refraction in an effort to create texture, depth and interest — and plenty of "sparkle" because, as Candy says, "I like shiny things!"

Materials: scrap stained glass; tempered glass salvaged from auto wrecking yard; glass gems; iridescent vitreous glass; millefiore; glass beads; on recycled pyrex microwave turntable; with sanded grout. ~ 18" diameter

A kick ass "bachelor pad", however not ideal for schoolwork, which is going to start soon. I will need one of those wheeled lap desks. I've seen 'em at the Goodwill, gotta grab one.

The PROFILE LP Turntable
The PROFILE LP is an LP-conversion system based on a multi-speed USB turntable. When not converting records, you can simply enjoy your classic vinyl records using PROFILE LP as a standard record player.
The belt-driven PROFILE LP features 33 1/3 and 45 RPM settings, a high-quality tonearm and cartridge, a raise/lower lever for the tonearm, and a standard RCA output (in addition to the USB port) for use with normal stereo setups.
USB-Enabled
The turntable has simple USB output that enables you to capture music from records onto your computer. No drivers are necessary, simply plug it in to your Mac or PC and the audio will be sent via the USB port.
Conversion Software Included
The PROFILE LP includes a software CD with EZ Vinyl Converter for PC (with auto track detection) and EZ Audio Converter for Mac. They are the simplest way to record and convert vinyl directly to iTunes. Before you know it, you'll be listening to songs you haven't heard in years in iTunes or on your iPod. A free download version of EZ Vinyl Converter with Gracenote MusicID is included for automatic track naming.
Audacity Software for Advanced Processing
Audacity (PC and Mac) is intended for the advanced user. This application allows for advanced audio editing and processing, such as normalization, noise removal, 78 RPM speed conversion, and automatic track separation.
